Original dimensions are retained. Compatible AAC audio is copied unchanged; other audio is converted to high-quality AAC when supported and is never silently removed. Video is encoded as AVC. Compression is not mathematically lossless, and target size is an estimate.

AVC encoding can change visual detail. Start near the original size to retain more quality. Compatible AAC audio can be copied without re-encoding.
